A while back I was perusing some images of the Buddha on various websites. So much has been said about Siddhartha Gautama and his massive influence on generations of spiritual seekers. His image has adorned many a mantlepiece, wall hanging, painting, and of course statues in the east. I wanted to say something in music.
When I look at those images, I see that unique combination of deep peace and majestic dignity. As I started collecting the images in this video, I could sense the music that might evoke that same combination.
While it was tempting to write the standard eastern sounding music, I wanted to express the universal flavour of the Buddhist path. While it originated in India, it is international in its expanse. As I am a westerner, it made sense for this music to be western at its core.
