As you can imagine after my post yesterday, this was irresistible. In the “picture is worth 1000 words” category, this one says more than I can in many thousands of words. So I let it speak for itself.
I will add though, lest lazy minds think the two hands in the image represent all (there’s that word) white or black people, for me it is exactly what it looks like – two individuals expressing a common bond in front of their flag. The message is “I’m here, you’re here, we are both living in this great place.” Nothing other than that need be implied.
The image is simple and straightforward. If any smartasses in politics or media want to use it for some kind of racist rant, I encourage them to go and read my previous post.
Perhaps these two posts will help them wake up to the value of moving from the worst possible message to the best.
