I follow some sites that watch various online privacy issues as they develop. While some of the articles can be quite technical (yawn!), some jump out at lowly tech users like me. This one did for since I was using WhatsApp for a while. Yup, that is now past tense for reasons that will be obvious when you read this article.

To save you some time, I can safely tell you that the gist of the article is contained in its title.

This latest threat is certainly in keeping with the attitude of Facebook et al. Needless to say, I’ve removed WhatsApp from my phone and am now using both Telegram and Signal. This is because some of my friends are on each of these. It’s not a big deal to have them both.

Facebook will delete your WhatsApp account if you don’t agree to the new WhatsApp Privacy Policy and Terms of Services.
